Diversity Links |
The AAMC is
working to increase diversity in medical education and
advance health care equity in the United States. Our
efforts focus on three general areas: diversifying the
applicant pool; serving applicants and medical students,
and; supporting medical school faculty and
administration. |

AAMC
Women in Medicine Program (WIM) |
The AAMC's Women
in Medicine program assists dean's offices, Women
Liaison Officers (WLOs), and individual faculty members
in addressing gender-related inequities and improving
the pathways for women to contribute fully to academic
medicine. |

American Indian Science
and Engineering Society (AISES) |
Mission is to
increase substantially the representation of American
Indian and Alaskan Natives in engineering, science and
other related technology disciplines. |

American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) |
Mission is to
function at the local, national and international level
to advance women in medicine and improve women’s health
by providing and developing leadership, advocacy,
education, expertise, mentoring and through building
strategic alliances. |

Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum - Health
Information Network (APIAHF) |
The Asian & Pacific
Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) is a national
health policy organization for Asian Americans, Native
Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (AA and NHPI). Our
mission is to advocate for greater recognition,
inclusion and engagement of Asian Americans, Native
Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders on policies and programs
that are critical to the health and well-being of our
diverse and vibrant communities. |

Asian
Federation of Psychiatric Associations (AFPA) |
August 2007 The
First World Congress of Asian Psychiatry (1-WCAP) was
held in Goa India that attracted over 350 participants
from 5 continents. At this Congress the Asian Journal of
psychiatry was launched the Journal will fill a long
felt need for a quality journal in psychiatry for all of
Asia aimed at cooperation among psychiatrists interested
in changing Asian psychiatry for the better and cutting
edge research that will benefit Asian psychiatry . It
welcomes contributions that highlight Psychiatry in Asia
from around the world. AFPA has come a very long way
since 2005 when it was launched and strengthened ties
within the member countries of Asia who face many
problems in mental health. The Asian Journal of
Psychiatry (AJP) is at the cornerstone of this effort
for excellence in Asian Psychiatry. |

Association of Black Women Physicians (ABWP) |
The Association of
Black Women Physicians is an organized network of Black
women physicians committed to the improvement of public
health and welfare, through the advancement of knowledge
concerning women and the community health. We serve as a
philanthropic source of funds to individuals and
projects related to the health concerns of the Black
community. We endeavor to enhance the personal and
professional quality of life of present and future Black
women physicians. |

Association for Women in
Science (AWIS) |
An organization
dedicated to achieving equality and full participation
for women in science,technology, engineering and
mathematics. |

Association
of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO) |
A national
association representing community health organizations
dedicated to promoting advocacy, collaboration and
leadership that improves the health status and access of
Asian Americans & Native Americans, Native Hawaiians and
other Pacific Islanders within the United States. |

Association of Minority Health Professions Schools
(AMHPS) |
AMHPS’ mission is
to engage the collective resources, scholarship and
technology of our member institutions to facilitate and
promote optimum health among poor and minority people.
The three-approach includes:
- Improving the health status of African-Americans,
under-represented minorities and the underserved
- Growing the representation of well qualified
African-American and under-represented minorities in the
health professions.
- Strengthening our institutions and
programs as well as other programs throughout the
nation; this in turn will improve the role of minorities
in the provision of health care.

Association of Women Surgeons (AWS) |
The Association of
Women Surgeons is committed to supporting the
professional and personal needs of female surgeons at
various stages in their career - from residency through
retirement. Since our founding in 1981, AWS has set up
many programs with the specific objective of promoting
the professional growth and advancement of our members.
By working together, and with organizations like the
American College of Surgeons, AWS hopes to bring down
barriers that remain for women in surgery.

A coalition of
organizations and individuals across health care
disciplines, recently reactivated by the AAMC in
response to the University of Michigan Affirmative
Action decisions. This coalition is guided by four
principles: a ) benefits of promoting diversity in
health professions b ) acknowledge collective social and
professional obligation to address public- health care
crisis c ) understand the need to promote mechanisms
that enhance diversity in the health professions. |

HERC - Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (New
England Chapter) |
Developed in 2006,
the New England HERC is a collaborative response of
member institutions to the many challenges of academic
recruitment and retention. One particular interest of
the New England HERC is finding effective ways to assist
the spouses and partners of faculty and staff to secure
area employment.

With the JGH portal, we hope to provide a supportive

Access, Inc. (MAI) |
Minority Access,
Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization
that supports individuals, academic institutions,
federal, state, and local government agencies, and
various corporations to diversify campuses and work
sites by improving the recruitment, retention and
enhancement of minorities.

Association of Medical Minority Educators, Inc. (NAMME) |
NAMME is a
national organization dedicated to developing and
sustaining productive relationships as well as
action-oriented programs among national, state, and
community stakeholders working to ensure racial and
ethnic diversity in all of the health professions. NAMME
also seeks to provide critical guidance and professional
development opportunities for individuals dedicated to
these efforts and the students they serve.

Health Organization (NBLHO) |
Networking
Opportunities: Through the various regional and national
NBLHO/NNLAMS activities, you will have the opportunity
to network with other Latinos in the health professions
both at the medical school level and beyond. NBLHO

National Hispanic Medical Association, the national
organization representing Latino physicians and medical

Society of Black Academic
Surgeons |
The Society of
Black Academic Surgeons (SBAS) was founded in 1989
against the backdrop of a paucity of African-American
surgeons in academic medicine and the absence of an
organized network of African-American surgeons to
stimulate, mentor and inspire young surgeons and medical
students to pursue academic careers. The Society’s
annual meeting is designed to stimulate academic
excellence among its members by providing a forum of
scholarship in collaboration with the leading
Departments of Surgery in the United States. |

The Leadership Alliance |
The Leadership
Alliance is an academic consortium of 33 institutions of
higher learning, including leading research and teaching
college and universities. The mission of the Leadership
Alliance is to develop underrepresented students into
outstanding leaders and role models in academia,
business and the public sector. |

(WIM) |
The mission of
Women in Management, Inc. is to promote the
professionalism of our members through education,

Throughout the
year, WiPM conducts a number of respected programs and

Committee on Institutional Cooperation Doctoral
Directory |
The CIC Doctoral
Directory is a listing of doctoral degree recipients who
are members of groups underrepresented in higher
education and who are alumni of the universities of the
Committee on Institutional Cooperation . The Directory
is designed to increase the visibility of doctoral
alumni who bring diverse perspectives and experiences to
higher education. The Directory will be promoted among
hiring committees at CIC member universities, and the
searchable, online database will be freely available to
the public. |

Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities - SEED
Resume Database |
The highlight of
the SEED Program is a resume database that HACU hosts on
its website and that corporations can access for a fee.
Corporations now have an easy way to reach many
qualified candidates for jobs in their organizations.
Candidates can post their resumes for free on the site.

Minority & Women Doctoral
Directory |
MWDD is a registry
which maintains up-to-date information on employment
candidates who have recently received, or are soon to
receive, a doctoral or master's degree in their
respective field from one of approximately two hundred
major research universities in the United States. The
current edition of the Directory lists approximately
4,900 Black, Hispanic, American Indian, Asian American,
and women students in nearly 80 fields in the sciences,
engineering, the social sciences and the humanities.
