Equal Employment Opportunity Basics for Managers
As a manager the decisions you make regarding employees
that report to you should be guided by the principles of
non-discrimination and equal opportunity.
Non-discrimination means that decisions made about a
person’s access to employment opportunities and/or benefits of
employment are made according to objective, consistent and job-
related criteria. Equal opportunity means that all persons have
equal opportunity and access to employment opportunities and the
benefits of employment at the Health Center.
The Office of Diversity and Equity is offering tools
for managers to better understand these concepts and to apply
such tools to employment related decisions. So far, we have
produced three written guidelines on the following Equal
Employment Opportunity topics:
