Our Structure
The Affirmative Action Officer for the UConn Health Center is
the Executive Director of the Office of Diversity and Equity who
reports directly to Dr. Peter Deckers, Executive Vice President
for Health Affairs, and Dean, School of Medicine. The Office of
Diversity and Equity and the Executive Director report to Susan
Whetstone, Chief Administrative Officer, Health Affairs.

Our Services
1. Diversity strategic planning in supporting the Health
Center’s mission to provide remarkable care through research and
planning.
2. Affirmative Action Compliance Planning: Annual preparation
and submission of the State of Connecticut Affirmative Action
Plan and the Federal Plan. We also provide communication about
the plan, the goals and the Commission on Human Rights and
Opportunities requirements. We work with Human Resources to
monitor our progress throughout the year.
