March is National Women’s History
Month
This declaration came from a concern that
the standard U.S. public school k-12 curriculum in the 1970s
did not include women’s role in the events that shaped the
growth of the United States. A California educational task force
began to raise public awareness of this deficiency by
establishing the first Women’s History week in 1970. Soon other
states and finally the Congress followed suit and March became a
time for public events focused on educating the public about
women’s contributions to all aspects of societies in America and
also around the world. Such awareness also became an effective
means to achieve overall equity for women and provided
networking opportunities for women to learn from and support
each other.
To honor this month, please come to THE
TOTAL WOMAN event where you can network with our very own
physicians regarding important health care issues .
Date : Wednesday , March 17
Time: 12-1

From the first settlers who came to our
shores, from the first American Indian families who befriended
them, men and women have worked together to build this nation.
Too often the women were unsung and sometimes their
contributions went unnoticed. But the achievements, leadership,
courage, strength and love of the women who built America was as
vital as that of the men whose names we know so well. |
